Greetings in the matchless and marvelous name of Christ:

It is with humbleness and honor that I greet you as President of the Arkansas Consolidated Missionary Baptist State Congress.  I count it a great privilege to serve you in this capacity and to serve with such an awesome team of Christian educators.

The Congress of Christian Education serves as the discipleship branch of our Convention with the mission to provide Christian Education opportunities that will equip, encourage, and engage the members of the Churches and Associations in the work of the kingdom of God.

Our Annual Session is held each year the week following the first Sunday in June.  Our very capable servant leadership team will work diligently to assemble a prescribed program of certified studies and enrichment courses, celebratory worship, and fellowship activities for all youth and adult delegates who attend.

We hope you are making preparations to join us at our next educational session.  If further information is needed, I may be contacted at www.fbcmainst.org or (501) 758-1525.

Dean's Greetings

The Theme for our 2018 Congress of Christian Education is “Envisioning the Future Exceptionally-Leading Disciples to Christ by Re-engaging, Re-visioning, and Revitalizing Under the Cross of Christ'” Our scripture references are Matthew 10:1; Romans 12:4; 1 Corinthians 12:7; and Ephesians 3:11. Christian disciples are not solely followers of our Lord Jesus Christ but also leaders for our Lord in every aspect of Christian service, witness, mission, and proclamation. This begins first and foremost in the church, evidentially and incidentally, and spreads throughout the kingdom of God in this present world.

As we prepare to envision our place in history in the next few years, Christian Education will be the main forum that undergirds our initiatives. Our goal is still to provide diverse educational opportunities for pastors, lay leaders, and church members to be exposed to the best ministry resources available.

The CMBSC Congress of Christian Education affords opportunities for relevant and innovative models of ministry that both enlighten and inform. It provides initiatives that support the Convention's charge of equipping pastors and churches to be more effective in ministry to lift our voices on behalf of the voiceless.

There will be 31 Certified Classes and three Enrichment Classes offered in this year's Congress. This will include the music class taught by Dr. Kenneth Harris and Sis. June Rogers; “Staying Focused and Faithful in a Dysfunctional Society” taught by Rev. Sidney Milton of Longley Baptist Church; and a new enrichment class, “Genesiology: Understanding the Pneuma, Charisma, and Do Terra of God”, taught by the Moderator of East Arkansas District, Dr. Leo Adams. There will be two other new classes offered this year, “Introduction to the Bible” taught by Rev. Bobby Patterson, and “Process of Practices of Biblical Interpretation” taught by Rev. Pierce Moore.

The Lecture Series will be as follows:

Tuesday—Equipping the Saints: I Got To Get You Ready For This (Luke 22: 31-32)— Moderator Vernon Thompson, Lecturer

Wednesday— Mental Health/Grieving Counseling: What Works in the Community—Rev. Frederick Anthony, St. Paul Baptist Church, West Memphis, Lecturer

Classes 2018

Director's Greetings

I greet each of you in the matchless name of Jesus. Bringing young Christian disciples to the point of preparation to become committed to strong, faithful Christian service is done through innovative Christian education. It is my goal to equip the youth and young adults with essential tools necessary to recognize the Holy Spirit, in hopes that through recognition, application of the word will become an intentional act. The theme for 2018, “Envisioning the Future: Be Dope, Be Fly, Be You,” is encouraging the youth to embrace the kingdom authority given to us as believers. The word DOPE stands for Different, Original, Peaceful, and Extraordinary and FLY stands for First Love Yourself. I serve to help cultivate the uniqueness and self-worth in each of us.  I trust that God has instilled gifts in all of us which need developing. In a compromising world, it is imperative that we embrace and stand on the uncompromising word.

As Baptists we commit ourselves to comprehensively equip our youth in providing the necessary Biblical, spiritual, and secular resources that will thoroughly prepare disciples. In this first year of leadership as BYF Director, I’m excited to build upon the foundation created by the trailblazer, Dr. Cheryl Stuart and brick layer, Pastor Frederick Smith. I want to personally invite YOU to attend BYF 2018. The staff of BYF requests the presence of your youth pastor, youth directors, young adults, and youth, June 5th-7th at First Baptist Main, North Little Rock. We promise an exciting, enriching, and empowering time for all in attendance. We will focus on both biblical and secular education to have a transformational impact on both the scholar and local community. Classes are designed with Pre-k through Collegiate Freshmen in mind. The itinerary for the week, BYF class curriculum, and registration will soon follow.

We encourage you to utilize online tools to register your church and youth. We also invite you to stay in touch with BYF through social media.
